SpokeDo ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SpokeDo platform and the following mobile applications (collectively, the "Services"):
- SpokeDo — Meeting intelligence and recording
- Spoke Translator — Real-time speech transcription and translation
- Spoke Class — Language learning and classroom tools
- Spoke Right — Pronunciation practice and feedback
- Spoke Work — Workplace communication assistant
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use any of our Services. Please read this policy carefully. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, display name, and password when you create an account.
- Audio Data: Audio recordings you make through our apps for transcription and translation purposes.
- User Content: Transcripts, translations, notes, speaker labels, and other content you create.
- Payment Information: Purchase records for credits and subscriptions. Payment processing is handled by Apple (via In-App Purchase) and Stripe; we do not store your credit card details.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Features used, session duration, and credit consumption.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Precise location data
- Contacts or address book
- Health or fitness data
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data
- Browsing history outside our Services
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain our Services, including transcription, translation, and AI-powered features.
- Send your voice recordings to third-party speech recognition services to convert speech into text.
- Send your text input and transcribed speech to third-party AI services to generate pronunciation analysis, personalized feedback, natural language expressions, and other AI-powered features.
- Process transactions and manage your credit balance.
- Improve our Services and develop new features.
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse.
4. Third-Party Services
We share certain user data with the following third-party services to provide our core functionality. By creating an account and using our Services, you consent to this data sharing as described below:
4.1 AI and Speech Processing
- Deepgram (speech recognition) — We send your voice recordings to Deepgram to convert speech into text. Audio is processed in real time and is not stored by Deepgram after the processing session.
- OpenAI (AI language processing) — We send your text input and transcribed speech to OpenAI to generate translations, summaries, pronunciation analysis, personalized learning feedback, and natural English expressions. Text data is processed in real time and is not retained by OpenAI for model training.
4.2 Infrastructure and Payments
- Supabase — Authentication, database, and secure file storage for your account data, recordings, and practice history.
- Stripe — Payment processing (web and Android).
- Apple In-App Purchase — Payment processing (iOS).
These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your information and provide the same or equivalent level of data protection as described in this policy.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Audio recordings are stored in secure cloud storage buckets accessible only to your authenticated account. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, but no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual recordings at any time from within the app. You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by using the "Delete Account" option in the Profile section of any SpokeDo app. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible — all recordings, transcripts, translations, credits, and personal data will be removed.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format.

8. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
